April 2009 Sucre Construction Trip

The April 2009 SucreConstruction Team
|
. |
On Apr. 11, 2009 the second Mission of Hope construction team of 13 people from Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia arrived in Sucre, Bolivia. During the week that the team was there, they worked hard painting the inside of the clinic and laying the floor tiles. They also had the opportunity to visit some of the families nearby that will benefit from the clinic.

This is the front of the clinic from the street. In the past year, the outside walls and the roof have been completed. Now all that remains is the finishing work on the inside and a walkway to the street. |

These are some of the people of the Sucre community that will be served by this medical clinic:

Edwin works as a mason to support his mother and 7 brothers and sisters. He earns about $10/day, which has to buy food for the whole family. There is no money for medicine or medical care if someone in his family gets sick.
|

Leonardo is 10 years old. He is not able to go to school because the family has no money. He works all day sanding caskets to support his mother and two younger sisters. He earns about a $1.50/day which has to buy food for the whole family. |
