February 2008 Sucre Construction Trip

The February 2008 Construction Team
|
. |
On Feb. 17, 2008 the first Mission of Hope construction team of 13 people from Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia arrived in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. After a quick tour of the current Mission of Hope clinic in Santa Cruz, they flew to the city of Sucre to break ground and lay the foundation for a new medical clinic. The team worked hard at an altitude of 9,000 feet, at times under very intense sun, digging footers, cutting and tying steal, and mixing and pouring concrete. The brothers and sisters from the local church volunteered their time to work along side the team and help out.

After the team left, local workers were hired to continue the construction, and the walls are now going up. This clinic will be based on the model we currently operate in Santa Cruz, offering free medical exams, free laboratory analysis, free medicenes, and a presentation Gospel message. Funds are now needed to complete the outside construction, as well as to finish and furnish the inside. Once this clinic is up and running, it will be a great blessing to the Quechua people of Sucre, providing them with free medical care and sharing with them the hope we have in Jesus Christ.

Update as of April 08, 2008: the walls of the clinic continue to rise...
